Thank you for your previous involvement with the 2015 NYC Media Tour. We appreciate your time and dedication as an alumnus. As you are well aware, every student dreams about traveling and interacting with businesses in order to gain experiences for a future resume. Unfortunately, many do not have the sufficient funds to do so.

 

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications would like to give you the opportunity to support the student’s involvement with this year’s NYC Media Tour. This year, participants will visit advertising and public relations agencies, nonprofits, and news outlets across NYC. Locations for this tour include Bloomberg Live, Starcom, National Basketball Association (NBA), Pinterest, LaFORCE and TED. With your contribution to the program, university students will be able to experience the trip to its fullest extent just as you did in the past. They will gain valuable networking skills and gain a deeper understanding of their media profession possibilities.

 

This year, the university has created a new scholarship for students in New Media who may not be financially capable of attending the tour this fall. The scholarship is available to all students pursuing creative fields in media and can be deferred for one year. Without the funds to do so, these students will not be able to progress further into the career of their dreams. With a generous donation from you, the next alumni generation will be inspired to be future donors as well. As a result of your donation, students will gain the education and skills that they need to find their specific career paths and callings in life. We encourage you to participate in donating to the CoJMC Creative Media Scholarship. Every donation goes a long way.

 

Estimated Costs:

● Airfare: $360

● Lodging: $400

● Tours: ~$30/tour

● Meals: $200

 

A suggested donation of $5,000 will assist a total of 5 students. If you choose to donate, not only will the scholarship be named after you but you will be publicly thanked for your contribution with a special reward from the University and participating students. As a donor, we would also like to invite you to visit the college to speak with the scholarship recipients and build a personal relationship with them.

 

These students could benefit greatly from your stories and previous knowledge of the tour. Your guidance has the ability to inspire students to follow their passions and offer them hope for the future. Please help us provide this once in a lifetime traveling opportunity to our students.
